SOLAZ
As an ephemeral medium, dance exists only in the present. Movement is continuously created and disappears as it unfolds, leaving traces only through memory and the bodies that carry it. Dance is instrinsically connected to identity, discipline, and the body as both a personal and collective space. While the body belongs to the individual and holds personal history, through choreography it becomes part of a larger system, negotiating its place within a shared time and environment. In this way, it becomes both an intimate and political site, revealing the tensions between autonomy and collectivity, permanence and impermanence. My practice explores these relationships, examining how movement gives form to the fragile and transient nature of memory, presence, and transformation.
This series was photographed during the castings, rehearsals and performance of SOLAZ, choreographed by Antonio Ruz.
The project was presented by Ruta del Castor in the context of Art Week Mexico 2026
